Minister of Youth, Sports & Community Empowerment, Mr. Ahmed Mahloof has said that they have assigned the councils to build surf shacks in 8 islands.

The islands that have been assigned to build surf shacks are:

N. Lhohi

R. Rasmaadhoo

K.Thulusdhoo

K. Himmafushi

L. Maabaidhoo

Gdh. Gahdhoo

Minister Mahloof said that they have planned to build surf shacks in the above islands as watersports activities could be held in all parts of Maldives.

Training would also be given in these 8 islands by Maldives Surfing Association and Maldives Bodyboarding Association.

These surf shacks will be designed in a way they will be able to seat and also store surfboards and boogie boards.

Although M.Muli, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo and K. Guraidhoo are not in these 8 islands, surf shacks will be established in these islands this year.
