Asim first got his interest in football during his school years. His first game for the F. Nilandhoo team was when he was in grade 11 and has been playing football ever since.

He is known as Asimbe in his Island and on the football pitches, due to his friendliness and his good discipline.

He has his own team registered as Sports Club Fahulavaanu. He is proud that there are former players of the National Football Team in his home island. He wishes to see more young and energetic players from F. Nilandhoo play in the National Squad in the days to come.

It was a pleasure for him and all of F. Nilandhoo when they got to play in the Dhiraagu Premiere League. Being in the top 6 made the whole island proud. A futsal ground was awarded by the government due to this achievement. This pitch has now been modified and upgraded with turf.

Asimbe and his team have taken part in atoll level tournaments and brought home the trophy in various tournaments.

When looked upon the barriers faced, Asimbe mentioned that there is no chance to choose football as a career here in Maldives, due to less income earned. Hence, they are forced to choose football as a second option.

Talking about his favorite Maldivian football players, he mentioned that majority of his island support Ali Ashfaag and use his style of playing. In addition to this, as someone who often visits F.Nilandoo, Akram Abdul Ghanee has helped and guided the football players of the island in different ways.
