After beating Maldives in a match Syria has gotten a first place lead in the second lag of FIFA World Cup and Asian cups joint qualifications. 

Syria won with a score of 4-0 in this match that took place in Dubai. In the first lag that these two teams played against each other, Syria won with a score of 2-1. 

Syria is in the first place with 18 points lead after winning all the matches they’ve played. In 2nd place China is with 10 points in 5 matches played. In third place is Philippines with 7 points. Maldives is in 4th place with 6 points. With no points won Guam is in the last place. 

In the first half of the match, Syria’s first goal was scored by Mahmoud Al-Mawas exactly 29 minutes into the match. Syria’s second goal was scored with a penalty by Aias Aosman 33 minutes into the match. The third goal was by Mahmoud Al-Mawas when the first half’s time was up, in the 2nd minute of the extra time the referee gave. 

Maldives’s team did a lot better in the second half of the match. Unlike in the first half, they held the ball against Syria while pressurizing them. Maldives’s team did make some remarkable changes in this half. In this half Syria’s last / 4th goal was scored by Mahmoud Al-Mawas 71 minutes into the match in a penalty shot. 

In the qualifying match Maldives is up against China. Next Friday is when this match will take place.
