Ahsan Naeem is a football player who refused to give up on his dreams despite having faced several challenges at the beginning of his career. His compassion for football began at a young age as he started to play with his friends.
At the beginning of his career, in 2013, he was selected to play in the Under 19 national team. He also led his team (M. Veyvashu team) to victory and won the Atoll Champion in the Minivan 50 Championship in 2016, under his captainship. From the years 2016 to 2018, he played in United Victory in the first division while working as a cabin crew. Creating a balance between his career as a football player and working as a cabin crew, had proven to be one of the most difficult challenges in his journey.
Ahsan’s biggest present dream, is to achieve the atoll championship and lead his island to the first division football league in Male’. His biggest inspiration as a Futsal player is Ali Hafiz.
During his interview with Tekkers, Ahsan mentioned that he has played against Ali Hafiz and Hafiz inspired him with unique style and Futsal techniques. Additionally, Dhaadhu and Rizey, are also incredible futsal players Ahsan looks up to. He also mentioned that Yaasir Mohamed is by far one of the best football players in M. Veyvashu and according to Ahsan, “my confidence level is much higher when I play with Yaasir.”
As the current Vice President of M. Veyvashu Council, Ahsan’s biggest goal is to build young potential players and guide them to play in the national level as well as to create a great name for not only his island, but the country as well.
