Hussain Nasheed is a 36-year-old, football player from AA Mathiveri. He is an extremely hardworking player and despite his age, he is determined to continue pursuing his career and achieving his dreams and goals. Hussain started playing football along with his friends, at a young age and he absolutely loved it.

During our interview, he shared that there are no opportunities in Maldives for young players to further their career in football, especially in atolls. Hussain also believes that there should be more tournaments in the atolls, for players to showcase their talent to everyone.

Hussain expressed that he has played in Club Maldives, as well as taken part in Golden Futsal Tournament, the Minivan Championship in addition to having taken part in tournaments in both, his island as well as other islands. He was also pleased to mention that he has played alongside with some of the National football icons such as Sentey.

He dreams of going as far as possible in his football career in Maldives. Hussain considers legendary Maldivian football player, Ashfaq, as his favorite player. Moreover, his biggest inspiration is Cristiano Ronaldo due to Ronaldo’s incredible technique and the unwavering effort that Ronaldo puts into his work.
