N. Manadhoo council is hosting a futsal tournament for both men and women. These two events are being conducted in celebration of Eid al-Adha, which is coming up soon. The male futsal tournament will be taking place from July 16th to July 25th. The female futsal tournament will take place from July 26th to August 3rd.
The main goal of these tournaments is to create strong relationships among young people while also encouraging them to live a healthy lifestyle. According to the organizers, only participants aged 16 and over are allowed to compete in both the male and female divisions. The council is expecting there will be at least 11 teams from the male category and 7 teams from the female category.
The tournaments are only open to citizens of N. Manadhoo and those who are currently employed on the island. Although the prize money for these competitions has not yet been decided, a champion trophy and awards will be presented. The male competition will last nine days, while the female tournament will last eight days.
According to the council, the most difficult part of organizing these tournaments is the futsal pitch issue. They stated that there are multiple teams and only one pitch to practice and that some teams are practicing until midnight.
