Nizambe Rejoins Former Club TC Under Long-Term Contract

14 February 2021

Mohamed Nizam (Nizambe) has signed on as TC Sports Clubs’ head coach, once again.

Nizambe, who left Maziya Sports and Recreation Club days after the start of the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League, signed with TC following the resignation of coach Mohamed Shazly (Shaaz).

Shazly, who signed with TC back in December 2019, left the club 27th January 2021.

Following his “unexpected” resignation, Nizambe joined TC as head coach under a long-term contract.

While Nizambe rejoins TC, he helped the club reach the first division back on 2014. Further, the team were runner-up’s in the Dhivehi Premier League three consecutive years under Nizambe’s instructions, ultimately winning the league in 2018.

In addition, Nizambe assisted TC Sports Club to win the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup back in 2017.

Nizambe has also been awarded the best coach twice.

One of his most notable coaching stints was with Bangladesh’s Saif Sporting Club, who competed in the country’s premier league. Nizam was the first Maldivian to be offered such an opportunity.
