Maldives Table Tennis Player Dheema Ali and Badminton player Haisham Ibrahim Ali have got the opportunity to participate in an international tournament in Europe.
Dheema got the opportunity to participate in two International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) tournaments, one in Portugal and the other in Oman. According to the Maldives TT Association, Dheema is given the opportunity to participate in these tournaments under the World Table Tennis Youth Series.
The World Table Tennis Youth Star Contender will be held in Portugal from September 18th to 22nd. The Under 15 World Table Tennis Youth Contender will be held in Oman from the 10th to the 16th of October.
Dheema is one of the Maldives' best female TT players. Dheema is ranked 11th in the world among under 15 female TT players. At the age of 11, she won three gold medals in the Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) in 2019.
Revival Sports Club has found an opportunity for young badminton player Haisham Ibrahim Ali to compete in the Turkey Junior Open, which takes place this month in Turkey. Haisham traveled to Turkey to compete in the tournament.
Nashfaan, a former member of the national badminton team, stated that this is the first-ever international tournament and that he hopes Haisham would learn a lot from it. The competition will run from August 9th to August 12th. On the 9th of August, Haisham will play Turkey's Hanifi Mutlu in his first match of the tournament.
