Under 23 Maldives National football team has scheduled to play five friendly matches in October at a training camp at Lhaviyani atoll.

A three-day trial session was held to select players for the Maldives National Under-23 team. This trial session was held to select a 30-player squad before heading to the Lhaviyani Atoll for a training camp. From the 4th to the 12th of October, a training camp will be held at the Lhaviyani atoll.

Ali Suzain is the head coach of the Maldives National Under 23 football team, as well as the Maldives National Football team for the upcoming SAFF Championship. Assistant coaches Mohamed Shahid and Sobah Mohamed are leading the training session for the U23 Maldives football team. During their careers, these two coaches have coached some excellent teams.

The U23 team will face N. Kudafari, N. Holhudhoo, Lh. Naifaru, R. Meedhoo, and Lh. Hinnavaru in friendly matches.

Under 23 Maldives National Football Team is preparing for the Under 23 Asian Cup qualifiers. The Asian Cup for under 23s will be held in Uzbekistan next year. In the group stage of qualification, Maldives will face Iraq, Bahrain, and Afghanistan. The qualification matches will take place from October 23 to October 31 this year.
