Maldives Para T11 Athletes Compete in Dubai 2021 World Para Athletics Grand Prix

16 February 2021

Maldives Paralympic Committee (MPC)'s two athletes, Mohamed Mazin and Fathimath Ibrahim has competed in Dubai 2021 World Para Athletics Grand Prix on 10th February 2021.

The World Para Athletics Grand Prix series returned in 2021 with eight events scheduled to take place around the world from February to May, ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

The two blind Para athletes of NPC-Maldives, Mohamed Mazin and Fathimath Ibrahim departed to Dubai on 6th February to compete in the 12th Fazza International Athletics Championship.

Both athletes had spent valuable time putting the building blocks in place to ensure they are ready to jump into action as soon as the global situation allowed with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

The Maldives Paralympic Committee (MPC) has seemingly been on fast-forward throughout 2020. Founded officially in March 2019, the MPC intends to give athletes and people with a disability the opportunity to compete in sports and show their courage and talent.
