The handball tournament organized by H.A Dhihdhoo council president, Abdullah Rasheedh is slated to begin in November 2021. In a Facebook post shared by the president, he has stated that the “First handball tournament held by the Dhihdhoo president 2021” will begin on the 5th and is open for registration.
Those interested in participating in the competition are required to call 9505295 and fill out registration papers for team participation, player participation, and tournament official involvement by October 28th at 21:00.
The winner of the tournament will receive 10,000 Maldivian Rufiyaa. However, no upfront payment will be required from any team or player to complete their registration. Dhihdhoo council’s president stated that the aim of the tournament is to strengthen the female community among Dhihdhoo, to develop and nurture their enthusiasm towards the sport and moreover to grow more experienced players. The president wishes for as many teams from the island to participate in the event.
In addition to awarding the winners with the grand prize of 10,000 Maldivian Rufiyaa, medals, trophies, and additional gift prizes have also been planned to be given out. The entirety of the tournament’s cost and spending will be provided by Dhihdhoo council president, Abdullah Rasheedh himself.
