Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League (DDPL) Clubs practice are resuming with new guidelines after the halt due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in greater Male’ area.
FAM President Bassam Adeel Jaleel tweeted that he had a meeting with the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, the Minister of Health Ahmed Naseem and with Health Protection Agency (HPA) members and got a very promising response to the resumption of the DDPL. Therefore, he hopes that the first division clubs will get the permit to practice with the new guideline soon.
Due to the extended Covid-19 restrictions implemented by HPA, the DDPL was temporarily delayed since 3rd February 2021. Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League 2020 is a remarkable league that began in December last year, after several conference between HPA and FAM.
To resume the league, all players and officials took the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine last week. Due to the suspensions of DDPL, all club officials and players have expressed their displeasure.
The clubs and players are facing great loss due to the temporary delay of the league and the club members has recently met with the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to discuss the issues raised by the current situation. In this meeting, the President declared that, the complication of clubs will be taken into consideration and discussed with the administration to find a solution to the issues.
