Litus National Billiard Competition hosted by Maldives Pool Billiard Association (MPBA) has begun.

The biggest billiard competition in MPBA’s history was started on Wednesday. This is a new tournament that was added to MPBA’s calendar. This tournament’s opening ceremony was commemorated by Maldives Olympic Committee’s President Mohamed Abdul Sattar.

The tournament started with First Division matches. There were 22 matches played on Thursday. There will be 6 events played under Litus National Billiard Championship 2021. They are Team Event, Men’s First and Second Division, Women’s Division, Doubles Event, and Mixed Doubles.

The tournament will go on until 15 December. 32 players are competing in the Men’s First Division while 43 players will compete in the Men’s Second Division. 11 players will play in the Women’s Division. 43 teams will compete in the Doubles Event while 13 teams are playing in the Mixed Doubles event. 5 clubs will participate in the team event. They are Club Eagles, Customs Recreation Club, BG Sports, Maziya Sports, and Dhivehi Sifainge Club.

Unlike other tournaments, this competition’s winners will get huge prizes. Every events’ winners, runner-ups, and third place players and teams will get prize money according to MPBA.
