Last year’s runnerup WAMCO and Fuel Supply Maldives (FSM) are to play against each other in the second round of the Club Maldives Cup.
The second round’s matches were decided using the pot lucky draw strategy. Pot 1 consists of all the top teams from Group A to Group D. Pot 1’s teams will have to face against Pot 3’s teams. Pot 2 consists of all the second-place teams from Group E to Group H. Pot 2 consists of the first all the top teams from Group E to Group H and they will face against Pot 4 teams. Pot 4 includes the second-place teams from Group A to Group D.
Group C’s first place WAMCO will face against Group E’s second-place team FSM on Wednesday. The match will start at 21:30. However, the first match of the second stage will be played earlier that night at 20:15 between Group B’s first place Police Club and Group F’s second-place Police Club. At the same time, Group A’s first place Airports Company and Group H’s second-place MTCC will be facing each other. Wednesday’s 21:30’s second match will be between Group D’s first place HDC and Group G’s second-place Dhivehi Sifainge Club.
The second stage’s other 4 matches will be played on the coming Thursday. That night’s first 20:15 match will be played between Group G’s first place MPL and Group A’s second place Ooredoo. The second match at that time will be played between Group E’s first place and Group D’s second-place Road Development Corporation. Thursday’s 21:30’s first match will be played between Group H’s first place STO and Group B’s second-place Trade Club. The second round’s last match will be played between Group F’s first place FENAKA and Group C’s second-place Stelco.
The tournament’s quarterfinals will be played between all the teams who win in the second round. There will be a lucky draw before the quarterfinals as well.
