Golden Futsal Association has mentioned that a total of 91 teams are participating in the upcoming Golden Futsal Challenge open for the whole of Maldives.

The Golden Futsal Challenge first began 6 years ago in 2015. Players can play only for the team on the island that they are registered to.

Golden Futsal Association said that 91 teams participated in the tournament starting next year’s February 19. There will be a total of 177 matches played in the tournament. The matches were played at Hulhumale’ Rehendhi Futsal Stadiums last time.

Golden Futsal Challenge is special because of the competitiveness between the atolls and the zones that will all play in the championship.

The format of the championship will be the same as last time. First, there will be an atoll stage, and after that, they will be divided into two zones. After all the matches, the champion of the whole of Maldives will be decided.

If there are less than 5 teams who participated in an atoll, then that atoll will play in a league format. If there are more than 5 teams, then they will play in a group format.
