Club Maldives Cup: RRC and FENAKA to face in the last semifinal

RRC who is participating in the Club Maldives Cup for the first time and FENAKA both won their matches last night and have advanced to the last semifinal. FENAKA moved to the semifinals after defeating strong STO on penalties.

 

They won the match 9-8 on penalties. The full-time score was 4-4. STO who had been playing well in the tournament had to leave disappointed after losing the penalty shootout. STO’s last penalty hit by Ali Ifaaz (Ifattey) went wide of the goal giving FENAKA the win.

 

FENAKA first took the lead after scoring 3 goals. But STO did not lose hope and they played well and equalized. FENAKA’s first 3 goals were scored by Ahmed Ajvadh and Ayaaz Ahmed (Ayaa). STO’s first goal was scored by Ifattey. The other 2 goals were scored by Ismail Wajeeh and Mohamed Shaah.

 

After this, FENAKA’s Ayaa scored his third goal and completed his hattrick. STO won a penalty in the last minutes of the match and Inaan Ahmed scored this equalizing once again. STO even got a chance to win the game. They won another penalty in the last minute, but it was hit wide by Wajeeh.

 

The first penalty of both the teams in penalty-shootout was unsuccessful. FENAKA’s first penalty was hit by Ahmed Haleem and STO’s penalty was hit by Ameen Ibrahim. FENAKA had scored their next 5 penalties consecutively. STO was kicked out after missing 2 of their penalties.

 

RRC won their match against experienced MPL by 3-2. RRC’s Abdullah Midhuhath Fahmy (Bichad) had scored the first goal of the match. A while later, they increased the lead with a goal from Adam Naasih. MPL’s first goal was scored by Mohamed Nizam. Just after this, Naasih had scored for RRC again and increased their lead. MPL’s second goal was scored by Mohamed Yafeeu.

 

The semifinals of the Club Maldives Women’s Division 18/30 Futsal Fiesta will be played tonight. Dhivehi Sifainge Club will play against Club WAMCO in the first semifinal. The second match will be played between MPL and Police Club.
