Road Recreation Club (RRC) and FSM have traveled to the final of the biggest futsal cup in Maldives the Club Maldives Cup.
FSM earned a spot in the final after winning last night’s semifinal match against Prison Club by 2-1. RRC advanced to the final after defeating strong FENAKA 6-3 in the second semifinal last night on a penalty shootout after finishing the full time on 3-3.
In this match, RRC’s goals were scored by Midhuhath Abdullah (Bichad) who scored 2 goals, and Ibrahim Aswadh (Gabey). FENAKA had to play this match without their star player Ahmed Ayaaz (Ayaa). FENAKA’s 3 goals were scored by Yasfaadh Habeeb (Mulakey). Due to the match ending in a draw, the winner had to be decided over penalties. In the penalty shootout, FENAKA was unable to score any of their penalties.
In the match between FSM and Prison Club, the first goal was scored by FSM’s Mohamed Thohir. Not long after, Prison Club’s Adam Mansoor had scored and equalized for them. The goal that sent FSM to the final was scored by Naif Shafeeg.
Prison Club had earned a penalty in the last few stages of the match. But the penalty hit by Ahmed Shamaal had missed leading to FSM advancing to the final.
With this, both the Men's and Women’s Divisions final teams have been decided. The final between RRC and FSM will be played on Sunday. The 18/30 Futsal Fiesta final between MPL and WAMCO will be played on Saturday.
