Road Recreation Club (RRC) has defeated Fuel Supply Maldives (FSM) 4-0 in the final of the Club Maldives Cup with the help of Adam Nasih (Aadhanna)’s hattrick and won the championship.
RRC who participated under Road Development Corporation just won the championship in the first Club Maldives Cup that they participated in. Back in 2017, Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) had won the championship.
In last night’s final match, FSM had changed their jersey to an orange color due to the company’s color and logo being rebranded after 21 years. Earlier in the tournament, they had played in green and blue jerseys. This is the first time that FSM had played in the final of the Club Maldives Cup.
At the start of the match, FSM played defensively and tried to make use of counterattacks that they get. While FSM was playing defensively, RRC’s first goal was scored by Ibrahim Aswadh (Gabey) in the final stages of the first half.
In the first 10 minutes of the second half, FSM pushed forward and tried to search for a goal. From this, FSM’s Ahmed Vijudhaan (Viju) had made 2 dangerous attempts on goal. And the shot made by FSM’s Mohamed Thohir was saved by RRC’s goalkeeper Mohamed Zuhal.
In the 31st minute of the match, RRC’s Aadhanna had won the ball and scored by sending the ball through the near post, scoring RRC’s second goal. Just 2 minutes after this, Aadhanna had taken the ball from his half and went forward and dribbled past two defenders, and scored a phenomenal goal. This goal was a great display of individual brilliance.
Aadhanna completed his hattrick when there were only 3 minutes left of the match. He was also the man-of-the-match.
The top player (King-of-Futsal) of this year’s Club Maldives Cup is RRC’s captain Ibrahim Maishan (Mai) while RRC’s Midhuhath Fahmy (Bichad) took the fair-play award. He had won the Club Maldives Cup with MRDC as well.
The best supporting team award was also won by RRC. The best coach of the tournament was RRC’s coach Abdullah Nasir (Abo). The fair-play team was won by Prison Club.
Two players had won the top scorer award this time around. They are STO’s Ismail Wajeeh (Wajje) and FENAKA’s Ayaaz Ahmed (Ayaa). Both of them had scored 8 goals.
The top 5 players of the tournament are RRC’s Maishan, Gabey and Keeper Zuhal, FSM’s Viju, and Naif Shageed (CR3).
With this, this year’s Club Maldives Cup has come to an end.
