Maldives National Men’s Volleyball Team, who are currently under a difficult condition, loses their first match of the AVC Central Zone Volleyball Championship against host country Bangladesh.
Maldives played this match right after finishing a long journey to Bangladesh and lost in straight 3 sets.
Previously, it was scheduled that the team would depart to Bangladesh on the previous Tuesday. However, after the team members and officials had gone to the airport, they were informed of a Covid situation within the team, and they had to cancel the trip.
Maldives played this match without a libero. First libero Mohamed Naeem did not participate in this trip and second libero was unable to travel to Bangladesh for the start of the match.
Maldivian players had shown a lot of exhaustion during the match, considering the fact they played the match on the day that they reached Bangladesh.
Bangladesh won the first set by 24-15. They took the second set by 25-19 and the final set by 25-22 winning the match. Maldives had improved set by set.
Maldives Men’s Volleyball Team will play against Uzbekistan today in their second match. The match will start at 15:00 Maldivian Time.
