Uzbekistan came from the back to defeat Maldives in the AVC Central Zone Volleyball Championship.

Maldives lost against Uzbekistan by 1-3 sets. Maldives lost against Bangladesh in the first match they played in the tournament. They lost that match by straight 3 sets. They played that match without a libero and on the same day that they had reached Bangladesh.

Even though Maldives players weren’t at their best in the first match, they had gradually improved set after set. Maldives played well in their second match against Uzbekistan as well.

Maldives took the first set by 22-25. However, Uzbekistan improved their performance in the second set and turned the game around. They won that set by 25-22. Uzbekistan took the last two sets by 25-18 and 25-18 and won the match.

Maldives Men’s team will play against Nepal today and play the last match against Sri Lanka tomorrow.
