FAM has done an inspection on R.Alifushi Football Ground in order to come to a decision whether the final of the President Cup can be played in that stadium or not.

Alifushi Council’s President Adam Imran mentioned that they are completing all the procedures that need to be done in order to hold the President’s Cup Final on that island. 

“We don’t know if it has been fully finalized yet or not, it's in the discussion stage”, said Imran.

He had mentioned that the council is working on everything that needs to be done. He also stated that it is the duty of the council to accommodate all the team players, officials, and the other related people coming to the island regarding the final. 

The people who went to inspect the island’s facilities are FAM’s administration director and former football player Shaahu Ismail (Saayaa).

The last time the President Cup was played out of Male’ was back in 2015. At that time, the President Cup was divided into 2 groups and was played in Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi and Addu City. The final match of that tournament was played in Hithadhoo Zone Stadium.

This year’s President Cup is played in a league format. The final will be played between the top 2 teams.
