On yesterday’s match of the Women’s Invitation Cup held in Naifaru, Dotcom Sports beats league table’s first place Kurendhoo FC by 4-1.

With yesterday evening’s match, Kurendhoo has finished the 4 matches of the league stage. Kurendhoo is at the top of the league with 9 points in 4 matches. Dotcom is in second place with 6 points from 3 matches. Third place Apex and fourth place Ideal Movement both also have 3 points. Bazooka Sports Club is at the bottom of the table after losing all 3 matches they played. They are knocked out of the tournament with 1 match remaining. 

The final will be played between the top 2 teams of the league table once the stage is over. Kurendhoo can confirm if they are able to earn a place in the final after the remaining matches in the league. There is a chance for 2 other teams to earn 9 points just like Kurendhoo and there is a possibility that the final spots have to be decided over goal difference. This will happen if the top teams have the same number of points.

The fight for the spot in the final will be between Kurendhoo, Dotcom, Ideal Movement, and Apex. Dotcom has one match left while Ideal Movement and Apex both have 2 matches left.

In the match between Kurendhoo and Dotcom, the lead was first taken by Kurendhoo after Fathmath Shuaau’s goal in the 17th minute. However, Dotcom came from the back and scored 4 goals winning the match. Dotcom’s forward Shahula Thaufeeg had scored 2 goals during this match. The other goals were scored by Shareefa Mohamed and the team captain Mariyam Noora.
