Apex Sports Club beats Ideal Movement 6-2 in yesterday’s match of the FAM Women’s Invitation Cup and gains hope to advance to the final.

With yesterday’s results, there is no chance for Ideal to qualify for the final. The teams now competing for a spot in the final are Apex, Kurendhoo FC, and Dotcom. 

The top 2 teams in the league table will advance to the final. As of now, the first place of the table is taken by Kurendhoo who has played all 4 matches of the league stage. Kurendhoo has earned 9 points. Dotcom is in second place with 6 points in 3 matches. Third place Apex also has 6 points, but Dotcom has the advantage by goal difference. 

Fourth place Ideal got 3 points in 3 matches and last place Bazooka has not earned a point yet.

In yesterday’s match played at the Naifaru Turf Stadium, Apex took the lead with 2 goals from Fathmath Miusa and a goal from Aishath Siuna. After this, Ideal’s Aishath Ahlaam had scored a goal for Ideal and given them some hope.

However, this did not last for long as Miusa had scored 2 more goals and scored a total of 4 goals in this match. Ideal’s Mariyam Saha scored a second goal for them, but Siuna scored the 6th goal for Apex and sealed the game.

There are 2 group stage matches left in the Women’s Invitation Cup. Dotcom will play against Ideal tomorrow and Apex will play against Bazooka on Wednesday.
