Dotcom Sports Club has been crowned the champions of the FAM Women’s Invitation Cup after defeating Apex Sports Club 1-0 in the final.

In the match played at Lh. Naifaru Football Stadium on the evening of the 8th, Apex had retained a lot of possession and tried to score a goal. However, all their efforts ended up being unsuccessful.

Dotcom won the match after scoring in the last minute of the match. This was from an own goal scored by Apex’s Fathmath Miusha while trying to defend a corner from Dotcom. 

During the tournament’s group stage, Dotcom had only lost against Apex in all of their 5 matches, so this win against Apex in the final must have been a huge boost for Dotcom.

The queen-of-the-match and best player of the tournament were won by Dotcom’s Shahula who also plays for the Maldives National Team. The top scorer of the tournament was Apex’s Miusha with 11 goals in the tournament. 

The fair-play team of the tournament was Kurendhoo FC. Kurendhoo was unable to play in the final due to losing in goal difference.
