Maldives’ best female table tennis player Fathmath Dheema Ali has won the Doubles Category in the All-Thailand Table Tennis Championship held in Thailand. She had also competed in the quarterfinals of the women’s singles in 2 age categories during the tournament.
Dheema’s partner in the Doubles under-15 age category during the tournament was Thailand’s Fang. Dheema and Fang’s pair played against another Thailand pair and won in the final by 11-08, 11-09, and 11-07.
With the help of the Youth Ministry and TT Association of Maldives (TTAM), Dheema has been training in Thailand. Dheema had participated in the quarterfinals of the women’s singles in 2 age categories. This was in under-15 and under-17.
Last month, Dheema had participated in the World Junior Table Tennis Championship held in Portugal. Dheema had played well in the world championship and made full use of her chance.
Dheema had played with Czech Republic’s Martin Sip in the Mixed Doubles Event in the World Championship and won one match they played. However, they lost in the quarterfinal stage. Dheema had also participated in the World Contender Championship held in Oman last November and advanced up to the quarterfinals.
