Due to the increase of covid cases within Hdh atoll and due to more and more islands constantly being put under monitoring, the Tekkers Milo Championship Maldives Cup which was first scheduled to start on the 18th of January has been delayed by a few days.
The tournament was first set to take place on Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi on the 18th. However, due to an increase in covid cases in Hdh atoll, the tournament was forced to be delayed on Hdh atoll. The Hdh section will now start after finishing Block 2, (Shaviyani and Noonu atolls).
There are still no changes to Shaviyani and Noonu atoll fixtures. The matches will be played according to the latest schedule. This means that the tournament will commence in Shaviyani atoll’s Narudhoo on the 26th of January. The first match of the tournament will be played between Foakaidhoo and host island Narudhoo at 16:00. The Noonu atoll tournament is set to begin on the 31st of January.
The new estimated date that the Hdh atoll tournament will start is the 6th of February.
The champions of the Tekkers Milo Championship Maldives Cup will receive a prize money of MVR 50,000/- while the tournament runner-up will get a prize money of MVR 25,000/-. The atoll champions will also be rewarded with trophies and medals.
