5 athletes from Maldives along with fastest athlete in Maldives, Hassan Saaidh will be participating in the Olympics this year. This year the Olympics is in the capital city of Japan, Tokyo.
There are 3 male athletes and 3 female athletes from Maldives, who were included as participants for the Olympics this year. From these players, male athletes are, Maldives number one athlete Hassan Saaidh, Ibaadhulla Adam and Najudhaan Abdulla.
For the female athletes’ participants are Maldives fastest female athlete, Aishath Himna Hassan, Mariyam Rooyaa Ali and Aishath Shaba Saleem. From the female section Himna will run for 400 meters and other two female participants will run for 100 meters.
Hassan Saaidh has previously run in the Olympics. That time he surpassed the preliminary round. Saaidh is the second Maldivian who has surpassed this round.
The Olympics which are strive to take place this year was actually to be held last year. However, due to the worsening situation of Covid-19, it was delayed to be held this year. Nonetheless, the Olympics is endeavored to start on July 23rd.
