Maldives biggest water sports event “Bar2000 Faramanthaa Challenge” has been postponed, due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in greater Male’ area.
Bar2000 faramanthaa challenge is an event conducted by Farumathi Investment. In this challenge there will be open water swimming, surfing and body boarding events. Previously, open water swimming challenge was scheduled to start from April 1st to April 3rd outside Male’ rasfahnu beach.
However, the open water swimming challenge is scheduled to start from 24th June to 26th June and surfing and body boarding events are scheduled to starts from 1st July to 12th July.
While the challenges are postponed, Farumathi Investment has confirmed to open the opportunity to participate in the challenges once more.
The opportunity to register to participate in open water swimming challenge is open from tomorrow 15th March to 25th March and the participation for surfing and body boarding events will be open from 20th March to 30th March.
Although, the participation for the open water swimming challenge is open from tomorrow, the partaking fee for 18 years or older swimmers are MVR 200 and the partaking fee for 18 years and younger swimmers are MVR 50. For team events the participation fee is MVR 500.
Bar2000 faramanthaa challenge events will be lead with the support of national sports associations.
Bar2000 faramanthaa challenge intends to promote Maldives water sports and conduct water sports events differently.
