In this year's Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG), Maldives National Taekwondo team earned themselves four medals. Held in Madagascar, yesterday's event saw the national team win 2 silver medals and 2 low medals.

Fathimath Ibrahim, from the National Taekwondo team, won a silver in 53 kilogram category, a low medal in 62 kilogram category and Jannath Jawaadh won a low medal in 46 kilogram category. As well as, Ahmed Fazil won a silver in 87 kilogram category narrowly losing 0-2 to Madagascar athlete.

So far in this competition, Maldives have earned 6 medals.
