Held in Madagascar, the Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) hosted the badminton men's semi-finals. The match played between Maldives and Reunion saw Maldives overcoming their opponents with ease as they took all three matches.

First match saw Maldives' Zayaan Zaki win against Reunion's Aaron Asin as he took all two sets. The second match saw Maldives' Nibaal Ahmed take on Reunion's Loic Baatil as Nibaal took both sets 14-21 and 10-21. The third and final match saw Maldives' Mohamed Afuzaan Rasheedh play against Reunion's Thibaut Cogill as Afuzaan won both sets 15-21 and 12-21 comfortably.

The Maldivian National Women's team also guaranteed themselves a medal as they will face against Mayotte in the next game.
