Maziya Sports and Recreation defender Mujthaaz Mohamed and midfielder Abdulla Junaid has joined Super United Sports (SUS) on loan transfer.
Maziya has said that these two players have joined SUS for the end of this season and also, they mentioned it will give, these two players more opportunities to play further in this season.
Mujthaaz has played for Club Valencia and Club Eagles before. Maldives national football team left-back Mujthaaz joined Maziya in 2018. He played well in the first season in Maziya but due to the injuries his performance saw a downfall in last season. In the current ongoing season, he has been mostly playing as a substitute player in most of the matches.
Junaid has seen in third division football tournament and he has played his best performance in youth tournament for Maziya. However, the promising player Junaid has played fewer matches on the first eleven in the club. Junaid also has been seen as a substitute player in most of the matches this season.
SUS was promoted to the first division recently and they have been showing good performance so far. Ahmed Naashidh coaches SUS at the beginning of the season. However, Mohamed Shiyaaz (Mohan) has been appointed as the new coach to the SUS team.
Maziya is trying to make the club stronger for AFC Cup and has brought two players from abroad. They are a Japanese midfielder and Syrian goalkeeper. The Syrian goalkeeper has played for Maziya in 2017. While AFC is trying to resume AFC Cup group stage matches in centralized locations, South Asian group matches will be hosted in Maldives.
Dhivehi Premier League was halted last month due to HPA’s new set of guidelines, to control Covid-19 cases in greater Male’ area. However, Football Association of Maldives (FAM) is working on resuming the league this month.
