The Tekkers Grand Semi-Finals concluded on August 31st at Kurumba Maldives. It was a momentous occasion which saw two thrilling and fierce matches taking place.
The first match was between Dhaalu Atoll Champions, St. Regis, and South Kaafu Champions, Crossroads Maldives. Crossroads took a 1-0 lead heading into the break and in the second half Crossroads doubled their lead. However, St. Regis pulled two goals back in the space of minutes to send the first match of the Grand Semi-Finals to a penalty shootout. The penalty shootout proved to be exhilarating as it went down to the 7th penalty to separate the two sides. In the end, St. Regis emerged victorious as they sealed the first spot in the Grand Finale.
The next match was played between Noonu Atoll Champions, Velaa Private Island Maldives, and North Kaafu Atoll Champions, Jumeirah Maldives. Velaa Private Island started the match off strong as they took a 1-0 lead at the break. In the Second Half, it was all Velaa Private Island as they tripled their lead to three goals. Jumeirah managed to get one back but it was in vain as Velaa Private Island got their fourth goal to seal their win and guarantee their place in the Grand Finale.
