The FIFA tournament organized by the Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) in partnership with Maldives Unified Gaming (MUG) is in full swing.
The E-gaming competition, featuring the popular football video game FIFA 23, kicked off last Saturday at the MDA political center in Male'. While numerous young participants joined the event on that day, a total of 450 individuals are competing in two-member teams.
MDA expressed its belief that the tournament would empower the youth and rekindle their passion for e-sports in the Maldives. The ultimate goal is to motivate Maldivian gamers to represent their country on the international stage and secure prizes.
"This tournament boasts the largest prize pool for a FIFA Doubles tournament in the Maldives this year. We extend our gratitude to Councilor Faaiz for providing this opportunity, and we appreciate the efforts of Mahzoom, Ziad, and Salim in facilitating and supporting the tournament. The tournament is scheduled to run for four or five days," stated MDA.
The competition offers a cash prize of MVR 30,000, which will be divided among the teams finishing in first, second, and third place.
MDA emphasized that the tournament is being conducted with the support of MDA Leader Ahmed Siyam Mohamed.
