Manchester United's defender Eric Bailly has successfully secured a transfer to the Turkish club Besiktas.
The 29-year-old Ivory Coast international is not included in the plans of United's manager, Erik ten Hag, and spent the previous season on loan at Marseille.
Bailly originally became Jose Mourinho's first signing in June 2016 when he joined United from Villarreal. During his time at United, he made 113 appearances and scored one goal but faced challenges due to injuries.
Bailly's most recent competitive appearance for United occurred in a 3-1 victory against Burnley in December 2021.
Besiktas announced in a statement from the Turkish Super Lig side: "Our club has reached an agreement with Manchester United for the final transfer of Ivorian defender Eric Bailly. We wish Eric Bailly, who we believe will provide important services to our club, great success wearing our prestigious jersey, and we introduce him to the public with our utmost respect."
Notably, he becomes the second United player to make a move to Turkey, following Fred's transfer to Fenerbahce in August.
Turkish clubs have until September 15th to make further additions to their squads.
