MV United has won the championship of the STO Eydhafushi Cup, which was organized and conducted by Eydhafushi council. Mv United won the championship, by defeating Velaa Sports Clubs in the finals on Friday evening. The score of the final match was 3-2.
Velaa Sports Club went to the finals as first place in the group and MV United went to the finals, after penalty shoot-out in semifinal match.
In the final match, at first Ahmed Shuhail took the lead for MV United. Shuhail is a player, who has previously played in the first division. While MV United was leading, Ibrahim Shareef scored a goal for Velaa Sports Club and changed the score of the match.
For the second time MV united took the lead and this time the goal was scored by Maldives famous football player Ali Fasir’s brother Mohamed Fasir.
Mohamed Fasir has signed for Club Eagles in the latest transfer market. MV United’s third goal was scored by Saamee Ibrahim. Mohamed Thashmeen scored second goal for Velaa Sports Club in extra time of the match.
Ahmed Shuhail won the “Man of the Match” in the final match. MV United’s Ahmed Shian won the “Best Defender” of the tournament and the “Best Midfielder” title was won by MV United’s Haffaf. Mohamed Fasir has won the “Best Forward” and “Top Scorer” of the tournament. Fasir scored a total of 9 goals in the tournament.
Velaa Sports Club ‘s Mohamed Hishan has won “Best Goal Keeper” and from Velaa Sports Club Mohamed Rafaah has won the “Best Youngest Player” of the tournament. The “Best Coach” title was awarded to Velaa Sports Club’s Coach Moosaa Saeed.
Eydhafushi council also has conducted a women’s futsal tournament. These two tournaments were organized by Eydhafushi council with the support of Club Eydhafushi. Both of the tournaments main sponsor was STO.
