Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof has said that the Th. Thimarafushi football ground will be completed in the next three months.

Minister also said that, the completion of the work is delayed due to Covid-19 and the contractors has asked for three more months to complete the football ground.

Youth Ministry contracted the Thimarafushi football ground project to be completed in February. However, the completion of the work has been delayed and minister has said that, the aim is to complete the football ground at the earliest with the given extension.

Thimarafushi is an island with talented football players, the Minister said that his priority is develop a good football ground and open it as soon as possible.

There is a good support from youngsters on development of football grounds in the atolls in Maldives, Minister Mahloof has said that the government is making it as priority to fulfil the youths demands.

As so, 12 football ground has been completed till now and the work of 35 more is ongoing. Minister Mahloof stated that the aim is to complete 30 football grounds all throughout Maldives within this year.
