Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment has contracted the sub-base construction of three islands of B. atoll football ground to Road Development Corporation (RDC).
On behalf of the Youth Ministry, State Minister Ashadh Ali signed the contract and from RDC, General Manager Corporate Affairs Ahmed Shuhad signed the contract.
The three islands for the sub-base construction of football grounds are, B. Dharavandhoo, B. Thulhaadhoo and B. Kendhoo. The sub-base constructions of Dharavandhoo and Thulhaadhoo is worth MVR 2.2 Million and the sub-base construction of Kendhoo is a project worth MVR 1.6 Million.
RDC has been tasked to complete the sub-base construction in 35 days from the day working starts.
The government of Maldives has developed 8 football grounds in different islands and more than 40 islands football grounds development has been contracted to different companies.
While the government is striving to fulfil its goal to support the sports industry, Football Association of Maldives (FAM) is trying to conduct 2023-2024 Dhivehi Premier League to open for the whole Maldives with Home and away rules.
