Club Eagles has defeated Bhutan’s Thimphu City FC in AFC Cup qualifying preliminary first round and has reached the AFC Cup qualifying preliminary second round. Club Eagles defeated the Thimphu City FC in a score of 2 – 0.
The two players who scored goals in the Club Eagles first international match in 31 years are Hassan Raaif and Hassan Naaim.
Club Eagles took the lead in the first half of the match. This goal was scored by Hassan Raaif in the 9th minute of the match. Naaim took the cross into the Thimphu City penalty area and Egyptian forward Mohamed Osama was tried to kick it to the goa. However, he didn’t get the chance and Raaif got the ball as he was behind the Osama. After getting the ball Raaif scored the goal nicely.
The second goal was scored in the 89th minute of the match. Naaim scored this goal from a freekick.
After defeating Thimphu City, Club Eagles will play against Bangladesh’s Dhaka Abahani in the AFC Cup qualifying preliminary second round. This match will take place in 14th April 2021.
