The development of the turf ground in Ha. Dhihdhoo has been fully completed. In an interview, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof has said that, they faced great difficulties in the development process of Ha. Dhihdhoo football ground sub-base and the turf ground due to the Covid-19.

Moreover, in a tweet, Minister said that even though the work wasn’t completed according to the deadline, he is satisfied with the development speed of the ground during this difficult period.

The Dhihdhoo football ground sub-base was developed by Two A Constructions and the construction work of the turf ground was assigned to Ameen Constructions. Youth Ministry has previously mentioned that, the turf work of Dhihdhoo ground and sub-base is worth MVR 7 million.

Due to Covid-19, the construction work of the ground and sub-base which was assigned to both companies started off later than planned, due to the borders being closed at the time and turf not able to be imported. The work of Dhihdhoo football ground wasn’t completed on the set deadline.

Youth Ministry said that Ha. Dhihdhoo football ground is made up to the standard of FIFA and when the construction is complete, there will be lighting system installed, rostrum and a stage.
