Ahmed Asif (Oitte) started playing football in the road with his brothers and friends just like many in the Maldives. He started playing football at very young age, since his interests lies in playing football.

Asif got many chances to play in different tournaments. His first tournament was the Interhouse Football Tournament. At the age of 18 Asif got the opportunity to play in an island level tournament and won the “Best Defender” and “Best Player” in the tournament. In every year, Jamiyyath Salaf conducts this tournament in Fitr Eid.

Asif has said that, his goal is to play in as many tournaments with top level players in Maldives, and so far, he has played with Maldives Futsal King Ali Hafix (Happe) once. He also said that, his biggest achievement was becoming the R. Atoll’s Champion in Minivan Championship for R. Meedhoo.

For Asif, Naajee Mohamed (Neto) and Aiham (Aihantte) is the best players in R. Meedhoo. Ahmed Asif has played in Dhivehi League in 2015 and he played for Club Eagles.

The nickname “Oitte” was given to Asif by his brothers. He said that, at first, he didn’t like the nickname but as time passed, he ended up liking it. Now he proud to be known as “Oitte” and is widely recognized to the whole R. Atoll as “Oitte, The Best Football Player in R. Atoll.”
