This project is embarked upon by the request of the head members of the Gdh. Vaadhoo community to the youth ministry. According to the President of Gdh, Vaadhoo Council, Mr. Mohamed Waheed, it was confirmed Youth Ministry funded 2 lakh for this project. He also mentioned financial aid was extended by the Bank of Maldives with an amount of MVR 50,000 for this project.

The goal of this project is to build social unity and offer young children opportunities for development through sports and is designed to evict the risks of substance abuse and gang violence within the community. 

The president of the Gdh, Vaadhoo Council, Mr. Mohamed Waheed, also said along with the skate park, they will also develop a basketball court and a multi-purpose hall.

 It is no doubt that this project is a dream come true for many and the community is very excited to open the Skate Park soon.
