A world-class billiard Center has been opened in Male’ city last Thursday night. This ceremony was inaugurated by the Economic Minster, Fayyaz Ismail. In addition to this. Minister of Youth, Sports and community empowerment, Minister Ahmed Mahloof and Indian High Commissioner Sunjay Sudhir also took part in this ceremony.

In his speech minister Mahloof stated that it is a happy day for the Maldivian billiard family and that they are behind the establishment of the center. He also stated that he and the current government will give his support in all sports field and not just for football pitches.

He also appraised the president of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, for the contributions and support he extents for the sports community. He mentioned in his speech that he has hope that the Maldives billiard association will make the country proud.

World trick shot champion from France, Mr. Florian Kohler, took part in this event as well. In his speech the facility build in male is similar to the ones build in America. He also said that he is impatient to take part in the competition that are to be held here in the Maldives in the coming days.

Billiard associations main website and booking application was also established in the ceremony by Minister Ahmed Mahloof

A billiard house was also opened in the sports complex in Hulhumale, last November.
