Bangalore FC has arrived Maldives to play against club eagles in the paly-off of south Asian zone of the AFC cup. They arrived Maldives last Friday.
In a tweet they have stated that they have travelled to Maldives safely in order to play against club eagles from Maldives. To play in the play-off against Bangalore FC, club Eagles have been quarantined in Hotel Jen. Club Eagles got the position in the play-off as Abahani Dhaka left the Cup taking into careful consideration the exceptional circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, in particular the lockdown and travel restrictions in Bangladesh.
The lay-off match is scheduled to have on the upcoming Tuesday, without any supporters, on the National stadium here in Male’ City. However, the football association Maldives has requested AFC to postpone this due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in Male’ city.
In addition to this, Mohan Bagaan from India, Bashundhara Kings from Bangladesh and Maziya sports and recreation are to play in Group D matches of the AFC cup south Asian zone which are also scheduled to play here in Maldives.
Due to the current situation of Covid-19 FAM has requested to postpone these matches as well.
