National football teams depart to Dubai for practices of upcoming FIFA world cup and AFC Asian cups joint qualification matches.
Remaining matches of the group which Maldives is in, is scheduled to play in Chin from the 30th of this month to the 15th of June. A preliminary squad of 33 members were created and they camped in hotel Jen last week, however this was reduced to 25 players in the final squad. The team and officials departed to Dubai this morning.
Bassam Adeel Jaleel, president of FAM has stated earlier in “Kulivaru File “program on rajje tv, that the tea would be staying in Dubai for 10 days. However, during this period no friendly matches will be played. The team will be traveling to China after the trainings in Dubai.
The team has not been able to have practices in football grounds and during their camp in hotel Jen they had practices in the ballroom of hotel Jen. Recently Bassam have shared this on social media with a video clip saying that, the Maldivian team in the only team having to have practices in a ballroom, from the teams practicing for the world cup qualifying. The manager of the national football team has also said that due having to practice in a ballroom it will impact the upcoming qualifying matches.
Matches will be played in china due covid, maladies will be playing in 3 matches. Which are against China, Syria and Philippines. The match against Syria is a home match for Maldives.
